What
is the difference between a sewn and printed flag?
Sewn flag manufacturers specialise in small numbers where the number of colours
is not a cost factor. Sewn flags are ideal for prestige and high quality work,
for one-off or small number applications. Flag printers specialise in longer
runs where the number of colours is a positive cost factor.
What
are the rules of flag etiquette?
In full and illustrated detail, flag etiquette extends to over three pages
of a flag encyclopedia - too much to detail here. If you have specific questions,
we will gladly answer by email, fax
or phone. Alternately, you can obtain a copy of "Australian Flags" from the office of your local Federal MP.
What
is an Anti-Furl Device?
How Do I stop my flag from wrapping around the pole?
On poles of any angle off vertical, flags will wrap themselves around and
refuse to come undone. An Anti-Furl Device will prevent this from happening.
Email or fax us details
of the pole showing how it is mounted, and at what angle to vertical to receive
our free recommendations.
How do
I look after my flag?
Dry cleaning is recommended and safe. Wear will eventually start in the outside
corners due to whipping in the wind. Regularly inspect for wear in the corners.
At this stage it may be trimmed and re-hemmed and its life extended. If flown
for 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, it will need replacing in 15-18 months (in
most climates). Locations in high winds will need more frequent flag changes.
It is recommended to not fly your flag in stormy weather or periods of high
winds.
